We saw many musical acts. Too many, really. Especially guitar acts. And it’s a variety show. If you do more than one piece, you’re hogging the stage. I have to give a shout out to Ethan, who really kicked a** with his cello playing. The most creative was a 3rd year who did a modernist skit involving poured water, making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and biting into an apple. Her helper held the mike so we heard the distinctive crunch of a delicious, juicy Red Delicious. The raunchiest act was Aaron’s stand-up-comedy where he discussed a recent hookup in graphic detail. The most adult-themed performance was a reverse strip show by Brady and Joe. (Yes, they started in boxers. Very XXX.) The best was certainly the last, when Eric and Theo did a “walk-off” in a kick-butt So I guess I’ll have to keep going to these festivals to see her and hear her play with no viable chance of ever making her fall in love with me.

Boo. Cry. Sniff-sniff.

Freddy in the Chi. For those about to rock…..

Zoolander spoof.he keeps getting reminders about things that happened on the island. He meets with Penny’s father (Widmore) who is also the head of the Meade family on Ugly Betty, who tells him he’s not good enough. He tries to change his life but an old lady from the Matrix explains to him that it is his fate to go to the Island and push the button and nothing he does can change that. Long story short, Desmond’s reliving his past and it’s a dream and he wakes up in the woods and now he gets occasional flashes of the future.

Yeah, I did get on stage. I had to. Well, not really, but I think you get points just for being up there, and why not? So I juggled. With apples. The whole point was to eat an apple while I juggled. The problem is that the apple was way bigger than I anticipated. If you’ve ever counted the number of bites to eat an apples, it’s got to be double digits. But for some reason, my hope was that I could get through the apple in four or five bites. After said number of bites, my mouth was full, apple juice was running down my shirt front, and I couldn’t go any more. So I ran off stage spewing apple chunks. Was it still a good act? I hope so. The reception afterward seemed pretty positive. But next time I’m definitely going with a crab apple.

Kampala

It’s not my lovely home in Kampala any longer, and sadly, it’s not found near the rolling grassy foothills of northern California (my childhood home) or the crashing ocean waves of southern California (Dwaine’s childhood home). We have lived in 8 homes in the past year (some for longer than others) You can understand why I might have difficulty with this word. For now, I have an address which I call home. Over the past year, I have learned how to create the feeling of home for my family no matter where we might reside. Peace in the midst of chaos.
Now that I - and every other citizen who is concerned about the future of the Republic - have been told by the President that my concern equals a lack of patriotism and bigotry towards people who are criminals (yep, I ‘m guilty; I don’t like criminals), I feel that the Administration has made a final break with the conservative coalition that saved this country in the waning years of the Cold War and set us on a path towards one of the most productive eras in our history.

I hope that once this President is out of office, we can rebuild an ideologically sound program that will get this country back on course - both at home and abroad - and will serve to keep the Democrats in check. For now, I guess we just have to hunker down and ride out this ongoing disaster.
Second, I have to define the word good. OK! Last Thursday, I purchased new service from Sprint at the Bristol Mall. Today, my phone wouldn’t work and I went by the store where I purchased it to have them “validate” the service since I’m not technologically literate. The manager there, asked me the last 4 digits of my SSN. I gave them to him. Then my service was interrupted and placed under a “shut-down”. Why, you may ask? Because when I bought the new service, I wrote my SSN on my application, provided my Drivers License, and then verbally gave the lady my SSN, she types something else in with 5 incorrect digits. Needlesstosay, the last 4 digits of my SSN I gave the manager today to “Are you going to låne penger
? Then you should think twice. At least if you are going to use a sms lån
. That is very expensive and not for everybody. A normal loan would be better and much cheaper too. Not every loan is a lån for deg
. There are many sites on the web where you can loan money these days. One such site is “lån på internettet”
. If you need big money or small money, this is just the place where you can get the greatest advices. The first advice regarding this loan business would be not to get a smslån. So take care and spend your money well.

validate” my account were incorrect and caused the account to be placed under a ‘fraud” investigation. Hopefully on Monday, at 10:00am, Kristi can get it straightened out! HOW FREAKING ANNOYING! There is a lot that is really good about the US culture. The conveniences which I’ve found an all new appreciation for are drive through banking, mailboxes, consistent electricity, washers/dryers, dishwashers, clean tapwater, smooth roads and driving laws. The really good perks of living in the states are things like libraries, the plethora of playgrounds and safe walking trails/sidewalks around my home, local news and weather reports, well stocked grocery stores, and the never-to-be-taken-for-granted-again refillable diet soda with clean ice! Truly good is the (relatively) close proximity to family and the time that we’ve had with them this summer.

their directional trend

Filed under: Uncategorized, Uncategorized 2 — chowbow @ 4:35 pm

The AAS Market Model turned Bearish as of the close Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Again, the Technical component of the model was the deciding factor. The total universe of stocks, ETF’s and mutual funds which we review on a daily basis is 1,833. Of those reviewed, 572 are rated “Buy,” 653 are rated “Sell” and 608 “Neutral”. The recommended allocation in the Model Fund Portfolio’s was immediately reduced to 50% invested and 50% in cash while in the Model Stock Portfolio the allocations is being reduced as individual securities loss their directional trend or violate a internal Sell rule.

Market Outlook and Alpha Potential
Ok, so this wedding sculpture thing was going a little too smoothly. I expected at least one minor mishap during the process. Last night, I was baking both sculptures together, and while waiting for them to finish, I heard a metalic thump coming from the oven. I immediately knew what had happened. I opened the oven to find both my and Cary’s tiny little dopplegangers lying face down on the cookie sheet, with a couple of broken feet and two severed hands.

On the upside, the clay had baked just long enough to harden, so the fall broke the pieces off cleanly instead of deforming the clay. I’ve glued the feet back on, and will do the hands tonight. After that, the sculpting will be finished except for adding the eyes and filling in any rough spots. I’ll have pictures of the final unpainted pieces up soon.

Equities: Recently reported by Standard & Poor’s Chief Technical Strategist Mark Arbeter, the technical picture for the S&P 500 indicates the benchmark will probably eclipse its record closing high of 1527.46, set on March 24, 2000, sometime in May or June of this year. If history can serve as a guide (but remember past performance is no guarantee of future results), we will likely see sub-par price performance in the first month following the setting of a new high, and then find above-average price appreciation in the three and six months after.
Bush, Young and Leinart were invited to this weekend’s shindig. These three young men were the clear cut star players, but no Brady Quinn? Sure he has next year to shine, but he played his ass of this year and deserves to go. I know we can all think back to previous Heisman announcements and said…what the H…or who the H is that?? Heisman Trophy

Barnett = Buffoon

It appears Colorado has decided to not retain Gary Barnett, but it’s news to him. Gary, let me in on a little secret….IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME! You have been involved in scandals and black clouds for most of your tenure AND you just lost the Big 12 Championship by 67 points!!! Get out of Boulder while you can and please don’t act like you are SURPRISED! Colorado Buffaloes

Bonds: Our friends at Vining Sparks point out that yields rose sharply over the past week as technical support failed amid a continuation of the mixed bag of economic reports. The five and ten-year Treasuries had their worst week since June of 2006 as both yields broke through April’s highs and closed in on January’s peaks, which were the highest yields seen since last summer. From a technical perspective, bonds now look quite attractive and a meaningful reversal should be considered quite possible. In addition to the technicals, seasonal factors tend to aid bonds at this time of year. In the past 20 years, five and ten-year yields have fallen 14 times in June, tying December and September as months with the best batting averages.

Spain

Politics is changing in Europe and none more so than in Spain. With European nationals able to vote in a country in which they are legally registered, Spanish parties are having to amend their campaign tactics. Now they must seek votes from non Spaniards who in many cases have a totally different outlook on politics in general and on how their town should be run. The wind of change is blowing in the Spanish political arena.
